Close to one of the world's finest jazz clubs

Since February 2002 there has been a no. 1 venue for jazz in Salzburg: the Jazzit:Musik:Club in the Elisabethstrasse offers jazz, avant-garde, improvised, electronic and new music as well as world music, Klezmer etc.
The organisers of the “Jazzit – Jazz im Theater” Cultural Association have already brought jazz greats such as Lester Bowie, David Murray, Henry Threadgill, Cecil Taylor, Steve Coleman, Marc Ribot, Moodog and Louis Sclavis to Salzburg. Originally, various different theatres in the town served as jazz venues, which is how the Association got its name.
Now concerts, workshops, jam sessions and much more can take place in the spacious events hall at the Jazzit:Musik:Club all year round. You can hear national and international musicians here, from talented newcomers to established big-name acts.
In the Jazzit:Bar, there are jam sessions on Tuesdays, and “Homebase” DJ sessions on Wednesdays, with free admission.
The Jazzit is a place to chat, enjoy a drink and listen to good music in a relaxed atmosphere. It has become a permanent, inseparable part of the regional and national cultural scene. Move forward and never stand still, remain open to new and innovative or experimental ideas: that's the maxim of the club.

A Salzburg jazz legend
Adi Jüstel & Latin Swing Express helped to support the local and international jazz scene in the city and district of Salzburg more than anyone else.
His Mexicano Club and the Salzburg Old Town Cellar became truly legendary. Jazz musicians and fans were able to meet in these two popular venues, where they found a home that Salzburg had never offered before.
Legions of international jazz musicians crossed Adi Jüstel's path, played at his establishments - often more than once - and made firm friends with the ever-present, talkative whirlwind of a man... His bulging Guest Book bears witness to this exciting era.
After decades of work, it was now time to preserve for literary posterity his memories of countless personal musical encounters - from Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald to the musical standard-bearers of the local jazz scene.
The result is a personal, humorous journey through more than 60 years of jazz in Salzburg.
Adi Jüstel's book of musical anecdotes demonstrates in impressive style that Salzburg has always been out there in front when it comes to jazz - and Adi always knew how to sniff out the talent...

Another tip from us!

In Salzburg you will find one of Austria's most famous and attractive casinos. Just outside the Festival City of Salzburg, in wonderful parkland, is Klessheim Palace, home of Casino Salzburg. A free shuttle bus can take you there on request. Why not combine the tension of the game with a good meal in the palace restaurant? Free parking is available outside the palace. Casino Salzburg is open every day from 3 p.m.

In recent decades, the palace has frequently been the venue for spectacular events and political summits. The casino uses large parts of this magnificent palace for its gaming rooms. The perfect combination of baroque architecture and contemporary gaming is what gives Casino Salzburg its special charm. For poker, for example, Casino Salzburg is an ideal venue for beginners, more advanced or professional players, offering a range of different games and tournaments. The croupiers will be happy to give you advice and information about all the games at Casino Salzburg.
